Luxury Afloat Houseboats has been in operation on the Hawkesbury River since the 1950’s. It has been under new family ownership and management since July 2013. We are only 50 minutes drive north of Sydney by car along the M1 or one hour by train from Central Station to the Hawkesbury River Station, Brooklyn.
Our much loved and unique houseboats range in size from 6 to 12 berth. They are lovingly maintained by our dedicated team that prides itself on our good customer service and high safety standards. Our star fleet boats Capricorn and Leo are especially designed to be wheelchair and disabled friendly. Linen can be hired for extra prices. Increasingly houseboat hirers are pre ordering a Coles online delivery so that their food is waiting on their boat on arrival.
We have recently added waterfront cottages to our business. They are now available for all our guests to hire and enjoy. All cottages can only be accessed by boat and there is a range of transport options including tie up your own boat on your wharf, arrive by water taxi, or hire your own boat for your stay. and feature private wharfs and pontoons. Like our houseboats they are a place where you can hide away from the hustle and bustle of the city crowds, in a fishing paradise, and pass your time boating, kayaking, swimming, bushwalking or simply relaxing by the fire reading. Additional luxuries can include a spa bath and swimming pool, high speed internet and Foxtel. All cottages include waterfront decks, sandy river beaches, and BBQ areas. Located at the beautiful Milsons Passage each cottage offers different sleeping arrangements. Luxury Afloat also hires electric eco-boats as a means of access to the cottages and for your day use. Kayaks are included in the cottages hire as is bed linen.
Luxury Afloat also offers gift vouchers for full packages or partial payment. These make an ideal gift for those who love to be on the water. An original fleet deposit costs $500 while a Star Fleet deposit costs $1,000. This would allow the recipient to book any available dates of their choice and pay the balance on arrival. Since reopening after Sydney 2021 corona virus lockdowns, we are not allowing pets in the cottages hire. Pets are not allowed on houseboats or cottages hire, particularly due to national park rules.
We have a wonderful staff team, who genuinely go out of their way to ensure your holiday is one to remember. From advice on the best fishing spots, to the clearest swimming holes, we know the River and are excited to share it with you.
